Cedric Kaze addresses talk of betrayal in relation to Nasreddine Nabi

Kaizer Chiefs' second assistant coach Cedric Kaze says outgoing Amakhosi head coach, Nasreddine Nabi, will be pleased to see them carrying on with the project and possibly taking the team to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Kaze was responding to a question from the media about whether they don’t feel that they are betraying Nabi by remaining with the team, now that there seems to be a dispute between him and the club.

"I've known coach Nabi for a couple of years, I have worked with him and as him and me, we know the situation of the coaching job. Today, he's not here and I'm pretty sure that he will be proud that we continue where he left off and we bring the club where it belongs," Kaze said.

Regarding the manner in which things have just transpired off the field between Chiefs and Nabi, Kaze says every club goes through these kinds of moments, and they remain professional.

"Every team goes through such moments and we are professional, we are here to work for Kaizer Chiefs and we know what is in front of us. The things that have happened now are behind us, we are looking forward to tomorrow with every inch of our hearts, our concentration. To make the fans proud, to make the club proud, to make history for the club,” he added.

Both Kaze and his fellow assistant Khalil Ben Youssef were both brought to Chiefs by Nabi, as part of his technical team.

Tomorrow’s CAF Confederation Cup game against Kabuscorp kicks off at 15:00 at FNB Stadium and will be live on SABC 2 and SABC Radio stations.
