Both players are still under the age of 22, and the Belgian mentor believes they are the future.
Ahead of the crucial clash against Canada in the last 32 stage in Los Angeles, Broos talks about this combination...
"Mbokazi is a great player who has progressed a lot compared to a year ago. He has been getting better and better and I hope that he goes to a bigger competition where he is more challenged and then he can become even better than what he is right now. I think the future of Bafana Bafana defenders is secured."
After shocking South Korea, a team that was ranked in the top 25 in the world, Broos believes that anything is possible for his young lads, who, at an average age of 25.6 years old, have the fifth youngest team in the tournament.
This game also sees the return of one of the most influential players on the team, Teboho Mokoena, after he missed the previous game due to suspension.
For Broos, this is also a big moment, at 74, he’s the oldest coach to have reached the knockout phase of the World Cup.
He says this team believes they can fight for and attain a place in the last 16.
"We can say this World Cup is already a success for us. Everybody expected and hoped that we would reach the second round and now we are here. However, once you reach this stage you want more. If we show the same level we produced against South Korea, we stand a very good chance of defeating Canada."
