The Bayern Munich star has yet to feature at the tournament after being included in Jesse Marsch's squad.
Despite suffering a long-term hamstring injury in May – his fitness has remained one of Canada's biggest talking points throughout the group stage, with Davies watching all three Group B matches from the sidelines.
Speaking ahead of the knockout clash in Los Angeles, the 25-year-old admitted it has been difficult playing the role of a spectator but insisted he is now ready to contribute.
"When I first got injured, myself, Bayern and Canada sat together and came up with a plan, and I think we executed that plan perfectly. There has only been open and honest communication."
The German Bundesliga based player added that having recuring injuries had also planted doubts in his mind about recovery.
Canada coach Jesee Marsch explained why it was crucial to manage Davies without rushing the process even when the team were beaten by Switzerland to first place in their group – taking them away from their home supporters.
"We were fairly certain early on that for him to play in the group stage is highly unlikely. With the elite level athletes, you have to treat them like Ferraris. You have to maintain them and make sure that you're hitting all the benchmarks before you let them go and be free."
