Betway Premiership: Milford hammer ten-man Richards Bay, Arrows held by Siwelele

Milford continue solid top-flight start with Richards Bay drubbing

The Stallions won their third match of the season to move back into fifth position on the league table after dismantling struggling KwaZulu-Natal rivals Richards Bay 5-1.

Milford took the lead in the 28th minute after striker Siphosethu Ndlabi converted a penalty after Lindokuhle Zikhali was sent off for pulling back the attacker in the box.

The home side doubled the scoreline shortly before half-time with Mvelo Zikakayo striking home a loose ball which Bay had failed to clear.

The Natal Rich Boys made a double change at the break but found themselves 3-0 down just nine minutes into the second half when Zikakayo completed his brace with a neat finish from a Ndlabi assist.

Richards Bay managed to pull one back in the 77th minute through Mehluleli Ndelu but Milford restored the three-goal lead via substitute Phakamani Jwara.

Jabulile Gxakoshe, another substitute completed the rout with an elegant strike to hand the hosts a 5-1 win and condemn Bay to 14th spot on the league table.

Siwelele comeback to hold Arrows to draw

Siwelele FC continued their winless run in the 2026/27 Betway Premiership with a 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows on Sunday afternoon.

The two sides played out a cautious first half that produced no clear opportunities before the match came to life just four minutes into the second half when Philani Khumalo opened the scoring for the visitors after a Ronaldo Van Neel lofted cross.

Siwelele rallied to get an equalizer and continuously threatened the Durban-based outfits defence before being rewarded when volleyed acrobatically from a loose ball to level the score.

The hosts had a goal ruled out in the 67th minute after Thabiso Sesane had prodded in a ball that goalkeeper Thakusani Mbanjwa had dropped but was ruled to have committed a foul in the build-up.

Arrows also hit the crossbar with a mishit Khumalo cross before Nhlanhla Zwane drew a good save from new Masele goalkeeper Jody February as neither side could find an elusive winner.

The result sees Arrows in seventh spot on the table while Siwelele occupy 14th spot. 

Galaxy's struggles continue as Kruger United record first win

TS Galaxy's struggles continued as they lost 1-0 to Kruger United at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday evening.

Khetukuthula Ndlovu scored the only goal of the game in the 73rd minute but the Rockets were forced to play most of the second half with just ten men after Veluyeke Zulu was dismissed with 50 minutes on the clock.

The result left Bernard Parker's charges in 11th place with six points from their opening six games as Abraham Mongoya's newly promoted side moved into 13th place with their first win of the campaign.

Sedwyn George and Mpho Mvelase both had good chances in the first half, but Galaxy's attacking play was disrupted by an injury to the George that forced the striker off before the break.

Zulu's dismissal for a foul on Mlungisi Zwane was ultimately the turning point as the Village Boys took advantage of the extra man as substitute Ndlovu steered home a good cross from Zwane.
