Banyana looking for a win in their WAFCON opener against Tanzania

Banyana face the East African side this evening at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Jane says she knows it's not going to be an easy match.

"Playing Tanzania as an opening game is not gonna be easy, we know that they are a difficult team to play against. They are relentless, they play until the last whistle, so for us we have to stay switched on," Jane said. 

"We have to make sure that whatever chances that we create, we have to capitalise, we have to score goals and keep a clean sheet. You win your first game, you move one towards the first match with high confidence. 

"So, we wanna start the tournament very well, we wanna make sure that when we go out there, we are ready, so it will be important for us to get a positive result against Tanzania."

Banyana are placed in Group B alongside the Twigga Stars, Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire.

Jane gives credit to the technical team for the work that they have done leading up to the tournament.

"Preparing for any team, you have to work holistically from defense to attack, it's things that we have been working on, our fitness levels also," she explained. 

"So we've got quite a good team, our technical team is helping us, we are working very hard on setpieces also because over the years we've been struggling on setpieces but lately at least there's been some good light and try to score goals that we create, so it's gonna be very key for the team to do that."
