Stiller was a star player for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga this season and his performances have reportedly put him on the radar of Real Madrid in LaLiga.
However, the news came as something of a surprise to many, including Garcia, with several midfield options available on the transfer market.
Garcia, who has played in LaLiga with Girona, doubts Stiller is the right type of player for a club like Real Madrid and also suggested he did not suit the profile of a club the size and stature of Los Blancos.
"I've heard his name mentioned in connection with Madrid," Garcia told Mundo Deportivo. "But if I'm honest, I believe there are better players out there for that position."
While Garcia did acknowledge that Stiller was a talented footballer he also suggested his role at Stuttgart, which prefers a style of short simple passing, made him look a lot better.
"He's a good player. I haven't analysed him in great detail, but Stuttgart play in a way that gives their midfielders lots of touches on the ball. He's quite accurate with his short passing."
Garcia also admitted that Real Madrid do need some midfield cover to replace Toni Kroos.
"They definitely need a player like Kroos,. His absence has been very noticeable."
Stiller played 47 games for Stuttgart this season, including matches in the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, DFL-Supercup and UEFA Champions League, scoring four goals and providing 11 assists.
