Yamal, who has emerged as one of Europe's brightest young prospects, played a central role in a glittering campaign for the Catalan giants.

Operating with flair and maturity beyond his years, Yamal recorded 18 goals and 25 assists across all competitions. His performances helped Barcelona lift La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup under new manager Hansi Flick.

The only blemish came in the Champions League, where they fell to Inter Milan in the semi-finals - though even in defeat, Yamal stood out. Inter boss Simone Inzaghi admitted he was "deeply impressed" by the youngster's showing.

Zidane, a legend for both France and Real Madrid, joined a chorus of praise following Yamal's electrifying displays, particularly against Inter.

The midfielder's vision, control and end product have drawn comparisons to some of the game's elite, and many now consider him the frontrunner for the 2025 Ballon d'Or.

"When you see him play, for example, the semi-final against Inter Milan. I've never seen anything like that in my life," said Zidane.

"Just watch someone who has such a command of his craft on the pitch. It's fabulous to see him like that. We all had fun with him, and that's why, for all these young players, Lamine is the one to watch."

Barcelona are reportedly set to offer Yamal a new long-term contract running until 2031. The proposed deal may even feature a bonus clause tied to Ballon d'Or success, underlining the club's belief in his immense potential.
