Stormers set for flyhalf selection poser as Manie Libbok nears return to action

The Stormers have revealed that Springbok playmaker Manie Libbok looks set to return for the business end of the URC season, leaving them with a potential selection poser at flyhalf.

Another Bok playmaker - 23-year-old Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu - has also recently returned to full fitness, and as evidenced by his performance at flyhalf against Connacht over the weekend, his form could be too irrepressible to ignore.

Dobson recently revealed that Libbok was back in training for the Stormers following a lengthy absence.

"He won't make Benetton [on Saturday], but he'll be available after that," the Stormers coach said.

It will be a brave coach that will bench Feinberg-Mngomezulu for the business end of the season after his impressive first-half hat-trick against Connacht, however, a performance that suggests the youngster is back to his best.

Stormers skipper Salmaan Moerat was also quick to shower young Feinberg-Mngomezulu with praise, seemingly acutely aware of the raw talent the youngster has at his disposal.

"We all know that Sacha is an unbelievable player. The scary thing is that at age 23, we don't know what his ceiling will be. He has his whole lifetime ahead of him," said Moerat.

"He has carried us through the past couple of games. He is exceptional, and gives players around him confidence. I count myself in that number.

"He has bailed us out a few times. It is not just about his attacking... He has a great kicking game, and when you are playing games that are near Test-match level, that is what you need."

It remains to be seen whether Dobson will consider shifting either Feinberg-Mngomezulu or Libbok to a different position to accommodate both playmakers on the field simultaneously, though each has grown accustomed to operating at flyhalf.
