RG Snyman: Springboks targeting clean sweep in EOYT

Springbok lock RG Snyman says everything is unfolding according to plan after South Africa made it four wins from four on their end-of-year tour at the weekend.

Their 24-13 victory over Ireland in Dublin saw the end to a 13-year drought at the Aviva Stadium, after earlier wins over Japan, France and Italy this month.

With one final Test against Wales in Cardiff to come on Saturday, Snyman says the world champions remain eager to complete a clean sweep as he praised the squad’s adaptability throughout the campaign so far.

"It's definitely something that we aim to do, and it was one our goals, so everything's going according to plan at the moment, and just a lot of appreciation for the guys that are so adaptable and just fit into the plans, and staying focussed on each week," said Snyman.

The towering 30-year-old says Saturday’s win was even more special as he notched up his 50th Test cap at the Aviva Stadium, a ground he now calls home following his move from Munster to Leinster last year.

"It was nice for me playing at the Aviva, obviously, against familiar faces on the other side of the field, but it's just a special week for me, having my wife here and kind of feeling like you're home," he added.

"So I really appreciate the occassion and the game – it's something I'll remember forever. It's something that, throughout those years, I thought I wouldn't be able to achieve.

"But, for me personally, it's something special and it's something I'll remember forever, even just how the guys handled the week and handled me throughout the week was special for me."
