Duane Vermeulen one of 10 players set to leave Ulster

Springbok veteran Duane Vermeulen is one of 10 players that will leave the United Rugby Championship side Ulster at the end of the season.

The Irish outfit announced a further five departees ahead of their URC quarter-final against Connacht on Friday, adding to the already confirmed exits of Jordi Murphy, Craig Gilroy, Rob Lyttle, Declan Moore and Frank Bradshaw-Ryan.

Nearly 500 caps worth of experience will leave the side at the end of the current season.

Vermeulen will be joined by Gareth Milasinovich, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, Rory Sutherland and Sam Carter in exiting the club.

To date, Vermeulen has played 34 times for Ulster since joining from the Bulls in 2021.

The Bok great has yet to announce his next destination.

Vermeulen stated that he considered retirement after winning the Rugby World Cup in 2019 but opted to attempt to make the Boks' 2023 World Cup squad instead.
