After World Cup exploits, Manie Libbok fully focused on delivering for Stormers

Following a successful return in the No 10 jersey last week, Manie Libbok is determined to produce his best for the Stormers this season.

Following a physical and mental break after his World Cup exploits, Libbok donned the No.10 jersey in the Vodacom URC clash against Zebre in Stellenbosch.

The flyhalf slotted three conversions as the Stormers claimed a crucial bonus-point victory, with the Faithful cheering him on whenever he stepped up to the kicking tee.

"Returning to the number 10 jersey was really exciting and special as always, especially with the lively Stellenbosch crowd cheering us on," Libbok said.

"The support from the Faithful is something special, and I'm really excited to be back and contribute to the team's success."

Libbok was among a handful of players making a timely return to the Stormers mix, along with fellow Springbok Damian Willemse and loose forward Hacjivah Dayimani.

"Playing against Zebre was crucial for me," Libbok said. "The intensity of the game and the quality of the Zebre team made it an ideal match to get back into the rhythm of 80 minutes of rugby."

The match against Zebre presented Libbok with an opportunity to reunite with Willemse and Warrick Gelant, forming the trio that helped the Stormers win the Vodacom URC in 2022.

"It's been a great experience teaming up with them again," Libbok said. "They're exceptional players, and I'm confident our attacking chemistry will develop through our hard work. We're putting in the effort during the week, and I'm confident it will pay off on the field."

This week, the attention shifts to the Investec Champions Cup, where the Stormers will look to build on a promising debut campaign that saw them progress to the quarterfinals.

"Being involved in the Investec Champions Cup is a privilege, and I'm truly grateful for the opportunity," Libbok explained.

"It's one of the biggest competitions in the world and a great opportunity to play against the best in the world."

Libbok is keen to make his presence felt for the Stormers in the coming weeks.

"Now that I'm back with the Stormers, I'm determined to give my absolute best and aim for a positive impact. It's about contributing to the team and working together to achieve our goals."
