'An absolute blessing': Morne van den Berg excited for another Bok opportunity

Springbok scrumhalf Morne van den Berg is excited about returning to the field in the green and gold, especially given the talent available for selection.

The Lions star enjoyed a full 80 minutes in the fourth Test of Rugby's Greatest Rivalry in Baltimore, scoring a try in the Boks' comprehensive, series-winning victory and being awarded Man of the Match for his efforts.

Saturday will see him earn his 13th Bok cap as he partners up with Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu in the halfback combination.

"I'm really enjoying it - my body feels good, and I feel sharp," the 29-year-old told the press on Tuesday.

"When you get the opportunity to represent the Springboks, it's incredible. Every time you get the call-up, you want to take it with both hands. So, to be able to play more is an absolute blessing. And when I play for my club, that's also an opportunity to put my hand up and show what I can do. To play more at both levels is massive.

Van den Berg added that the competition between himself, Grant Williams, who is on the bench on Saturday, and Cobus Reinach was also healthy and allowed them to push one another even more to be at their best.

"It's good," he continued.

"We really push and help each other and that's the standard we'll always drive. So, the competition is strong, and I think that only benefits the team."
