Fighting out of the House of Tinkerbell in Springs, Nguphane has been on a lethal 4-fight winning streak in the EFC, and is now looking to make a statement on the PFL Africa stage.
In what is set to be one of the most entertaining bouts of the evening, he is hoping to tame “The Panther” and make a lot of noise in what will be his first fight on a blockbuster PFL Africa card.
"It'll be kill or be killed man – I'm killing him in the second round or he's killing me, so that's it," said Nguphane.
"The PFL signed me because they saw what I can do, and the fact that they put me against the champion in my debut, I didn't take it as these guys are throwing me into the deep end to see if I can swim.
"No, I take it as a chance to say, they saw that I'm also a big shark, they saw I'm also a guy that can swim, therefore, go swim.
"They could have given Yabna one of the other two undefeated guys, or they could have given him Dassi, who he fought last year, or they could have given him someone that's been here already.
"But they chose to give him the debutant, and the debutant they know will mark the X on Yabna's face and I'll put him away."
Before his MMA career really took off, the South African dangerman had the option to play it safe and work for his parent’s construction company, but he chose to undertake the lifestyle of a professional mixed martial artist.
