The Malawi Queen Cubs have arrived in Durban ahead of Power Week 1, which gets underway on 24 April at the Durban University of Technology.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Billie praised Netball South Africa for extending invitations to other African teams to participate in the competition, stating that such initiatives are crucial for the growth of the sport across the continent.
"I think it is very important as africans that we make these kind of partnerships and support each other because we want to make sure that Africa goes out there and stands out. The Netball Association of Malawi appreciates Netball SA for welcoming us into the Telkom Netball League."
Billie believes the competition will play a significant role in Malawi’s preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games. She also adds that the exposure to high-performance netball will help with the development of their young players.
Billie also shared a message of support for the team’s technical staff, led by head coach Joana Kachilika. She expressed confidence in their leadership and encouraged the players to apply what they have learned in training and embrace the experience.
"I know that our technical team have done their best with regards to their preparations at home, and now the girls just need to make sure that they play the game they know and apply everything they've learned in training, while remembering to have fun."
