The duo were notably missing when Usuthu played out a 2-2 draw against Sekhukhune United in a Betway Premiership clash on Monday night, fuelling speculation about their immediate future.
This came shortly after the club confirmed both Dias and Dladla will leave at the end of the season when their contracts expire.
Dias, appointed a little over two years ago to lead the club’s football operations, and Dladla, who joined at the start of the campaign as assistant coach, have been part of what has been a relatively steady season for the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.
However, the decision not to renew their deals sparked talk of possible internal tensions within the technical team.
Their absence against Sekhukhune only intensified rumours that the pair may have been released earlier than planned.
Zungu has dismissed that suggestion, insisting both remain in the club’s employ.
“They are still with us and will serve the club until the end of the season. There is no early release. They may be in attendance at the next match,” Zungu said.
AmaZulu had already made it clear the club would, in due course, provide clarity on succession plans, including potential appointments in the sporting director and assistant coach roles for next season.
