Knockout Chaos dishes up big bonuses and bigger performances

Aquila Boxing Promotion’s (ABP) Knockout Chaos Event delivered three second round stoppages and one first round KO on a night that delivered fan-friendly action over the weekend.

ABP has been credited for offering an innovative addition to the tried and trusted version of the sweet science by adding knockout bonuses into the mix – the earlier the knockout, the bigger the bonus.

Ambassador of ABP, Kevin Lerena says knockouts pay the bills…

"I think a lot of the fighters went out there to go for the knockout, but a lot of them also stuck to their boxing abilities, but just the crowd was buzzing from round in every fight because that's what the people want to see. The boxing fraternity wants to see knockouts, and yes we want to see skilful well polished fighters, but knockouts pay the bills."

The fight card featured two young South African super middleweights rise to the occasion, the welterweight comeback of Kaine Fourie, Thabiso Mchunu’s first round KO victory, and the main event of the night featured an international heavyweight matchup.

On a card littered with rising stars and tough veterans, Lerena picked Kaine Fourie as his fighter of the night.

"I think all of the fights were exciting and all of them had a different touch to it, but I would definitely say, although Mchunu's performance was very clinical, I think it has to go to Kaine Fourie. He came back against a guy who was bigger than him and landed he landed some good shots. I am happy for him because her came from a. KO loss and to come back and win is never easy."
