Super Middleweights set to shine at Knockout Chaos Event

The Super Middleweight division will once again take centre stage at Aquila Boxing Promotion’s ‘Knockout Chaos’ event, with the likes of Leo Careri and Gary van Staden out to deliver a statement.

The eagerly anticipated event on 25 April at the Galleria Events Venue in Sandton will showcase eight exciting bouts, and two of those eight fights will showcase one of the most competitive weight divisions in the country.

Leo Careri (3-0) will put his undefeated start on the line against the battle scarred John Bopape (15-12), while Gary van Staden (3-0) and Mxolisi Lahliwe (2-0) will both put their unblemished records on the line.
Gary van Staden insists there’s no pressure…
“Every fight is the same so there isn’t any pressure, we all have one goal in mind and that’s to win the fight. My coach has ensured that I work very hard for this fight and come Saturday night I believe you will see the best version of me.”

What makes this fight night in Sandton that much more compelling is that a knockout bonus initiative has been put into place, and in these two six round bouts, the KO bonuses on offer may produce some fireworks.
A first round KO will be rewarded with a R30 000 bonus, R25 000 for a second round KO, R20 000 for a third round KO, and so on.
Leo Careri says it’s all about picking your moments when the stakes are higher…
“Saturday night will be about staying composed and displaying controlled aggression. When the opportunity comes, I’ll expose any weakness Bopape has.”
These two super middleweight showdowns take place only a week after a controversial and yet highly entertaining South African Super Middleweight title fight between Dylan Prosser and Snamiso Ntuli, and on Saturday night this supremely talented division takes centre stage once more.
