Mathe was instrumental in helping the Gauteng side win the championship with 24 points on the log.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Mathe says she is impressed to have wrapped up the season on a high despite struggles with injuries during the tournament.
"So winning the Player of the Tournament meant everything to me, not just because of the recognition, but it reflected the work that had been done throughout the whole season," said Mathe.
"So it was so personal, after I had faced injuries, doubts, and a lot of pressure, and to come out of the season with this award felt like validation, not only for me but for everyone who has been part of my journey."
The Fireballs blazed their way to success without a single defeat in 12 matches, and Mathe believes playing as a unit and remaining consistent was the team’s key.
"I think what set us apart from other teams this season was the unity we had, because I felt like we were not playing for ourselves but for each other," she added.
"And what stood out the most was the chemistry on and off court, which was so special, and it just showed in our performance – everyone bought into the vision and we stayed consistent and focused from start to finish."
