Happy Jele joins Royal AM to put an end to club search

The 36-year-old defender was released by the Buccaneers at the start of the current DStv Premiership campaign upon his own request after he was offered a non-playing role at the club.

The veteran defender, who turned 36 at the turn of the year, preferred instead to go in search of a playing position elsewhere but struggled to meet a willing suitor.

He was reportedly set to join Royal AM earlier in the season but a move failed to materialise.

He was spotted training with Thwihli Thwahla earlier this week, and his transfer was finally confirmed on Friday.

A post from the club on social media simply read: "We are excited to have you around, Welcome aboard! Happy Jele."
