Orlando Pirates coach flags right back concern before deadline day

The Buccaneers currently only have Kamogelo Sebelebele as a natural option in the position, with other players filling in as cover or makeshift alternatives.

Ouaddou acknowledged that right-back is an area of concern, particularly with Pirates facing a potentially congested schedule should they reach the CAF Champions League group stage.

"You're right it's a big concern. I love Sebelebele but I cannot push him for sixty games because he is not a robot. I can find some solutions and emergency options, but the emergency plan will not work all the time considering the way we want to play the game."

Pirates have utility player Gamphani Lungu who can play at right back, however Ouaddou feels they need someone brought in for that specific role.

Ouaddou said he would defer to the club’s scouting department as they are aware of the void after releasing both Bandile Shandu and Deano van Rooyen. 

Should the Soweto giants decide against adding depth at right back by 21 September, then Ouaddou made it clear he would work with the playing personnel available.
