Woakes and Carse spark late collapse to revive England at Lord's

England clawed their way back into contention on day three of the third Test against India at Lord's, thanks to a late flurry of wickets under sweltering heat.

On a flat, unresponsive pitch that had offered little assistance, the hosts toiled for most of the day before engineering a dramatic Indian collapse that turned the tide of the match.

India resumed on 145-3 and appeared poised to build a commanding lead. KL Rahul anchored the innings with a composed 100 off 177 balls - his 10th Test century - while Rishabh Pant added a brisk 74 before falling to Ben Stokes moments before lunch. Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with a gritty 72, helping India reach 376-7.

However, England's persistence paid off as India lost their final three wickets for just 11 runs in six overs, folding for 387 - with the scores level.

Chris Woakes (3-84) and Brydon Carse (1-88) sparked the late burst, while captain Stokes finished with 2-63. Shoaib Bashir, who dismissed Rahul, also claimed 1-59 before leaving the field with an injury to his left little finger.

England faced just one over before stumps, with Ben Duckett (0*) and Zak Crawley (2*) surviving a brief but chaotic spell from Jasprit Bumrah. Some comical delays marred the final over, though the day ended with renewed hope for the home side.

What once looked like a dull draw now promises a thrilling final two days, as England's "Bazball" spirit re-emerges in an increasingly tense battle.
