Green reveals recovery ahead of Australia's series decider against the Proteas

Australia all-rounder Cameron Green has claimed to be fit to play ahead of the third Test against South Africa at Newlands Stadium next week.

The two nations head into the series deciding clash deadlocked at 1-1 following the Proteas emphatic victory in a rain affected clash at St George's Park last week.

Green had missed both Tests in Durban and Gqeberha due to an abdominal injury sustained during the final One Day International against South Africa on last month but has declared himself fit ahead of the final fixture.

"I'm all good to go," said Green to Cricinfo.

"Pretty surprised with how quick it's actually healed or how functional I feel only a few weeks after."

The batting all-rounder was reportedly spotted bowling during the Aussies net sessions on Saturday but is said to be unlikely to bowl in the coming Test, prioritizing stability in the middle-order after a dismal showing in the last match, losing by an innings and 31 runs.

"I think I've had a lot of experience up and down the order," explained the 27-year-old.

"I think I'm well suited at four and five, but obviously we've had some pretty incredible cricketers' bat in those positions. So, I'm very happy to move up and down the order depending on what the team wants."

Green made scores of 4 and 0 in his last encounter against South Africa in the World Test Championship final, with Kagiso Rabada claiming both wickets.

The final Test of the series will begin next Tuesday.
