Australia's Cameron Green unlikely to be risked for second Test against Proteas

Australia allrounder Cameron Green is unlikely to be risked for the second Test against the Proteas, that starts in Gqeberha on Sunday, as he recovers from an abdominal strain.

Green picked up the injury in the third and final ODI in Potchefstroom and missed the first Test in Durban, which the tourists won by 214 runs to go ahead in the three-match series.

The 27-year-old did not take a full part in training when Australia practiced at St George's Park on Thursday, and it has been suggested that he will not be rushed back.

"I'm not sure of his program, but he'll be hitting over the next week and he started to get moving last Test," Australia assistant coach Matthew Wade said.

"I think maybe more looking for the third Test, but he's starting to get moving, which is a positive sign."

Matt Renshaw stepped into Green's number 5 position in the batting order in the first Test and scored a match-winning 190 in teh first innings and followed that up with 82 second time around.

If Green does get back to full fitness, it would appear that the position of number 7 Beau Webster would be under threat in the starting XI.
