This after she recorded a fifty and a five-wicket haul to lead South Africa to a 76-run victory over Sri Lanka in their final ODI Tri-Series match on Friday.
Tryon admits that she was not aware of the stats but grateful for the achievement.
“I wasn’t aware at all - but I welcome that, it is a great achievement. I always want to do great things for South Africa and contribute positively to the squad. I am happy that it is something I can tick off my list,’’ said Tryon.
Tryon added a powerful 74 from 51 deliveries as South Africa piled on 315/9, bowling out the hosts for 239 in the 43rd over.
Tryon says she didn’t expect to dominate as she wasn’t feeling well prior to the match.
“I woke up a little under the weather today. I didn’t expect this kind of performance and had to stay as long as I could with the ball,’’ added Tryon.
The Proteas endured a tough series in Colombo, with only one win in four outings.
Tryon says they are disappointed to have started slow but grateful for the lessons as they continue to build up for the upcoming ODI World Cup in September.
“We are a little disappointed in how we started the tournament. But today we showed how we want to play cricket. It is not about how you start but how you finish. We have a long list of lessons we are taking, from bowling, batting and fielding. It is for us to reflect when we get back home and regroup for our West Indies series,’’ she expressed.
The Tri-Series final will see a contest between hosts and India on Sunday at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium from 10h00 local time.
