Zimbabwe confirm 'home' World Cup qualifier against South Africa to be played in Durban

The Zimbabwe Football Association have confirmed their home World Cup qualifier against South Africa on 10 October will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

With no stadiums in their home country deemed sufficient enough by FIFA to host the fixture, Zimbabwe had initially wanted to take the match to Botswana but the Zebras already have a home fixture against Uganda on 9 October.

Zimbabwe have already played a 'home' fixture in Durban in the current qualifying campaign when hey drew 2-2 against Benin in March.

Bafana Bafana top Group C in the standings, with two game remaining, and only the top team guaranteed of a place in the World Cup.

Hubo Broos' charges have 17 points followed by Benin on 14 while Nigeria and Rwanda both sit on 11 and Zimbabwe languishing at the bottom with four points.
