Tim Sukazi clarifies TS Galaxy latest FIFA transfer ban

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has told SABC Sport that the club’s latest FIFA transfer ban is administrative in nature and not linked to any player-related dispute.

The Rockets were recently hit with a sanction prohibiting them from registering new players in the upcoming transfer window, pending compliance with requirements set by the FIFA Clearing House.

The system is designed to ensure clubs that develop players receive their rightful share of transfer fees, while also verifying financial flows and compliance with global regulations, and Sukazi explained that Galaxy’s sanction stems from a technical issue.

“This was an abnormality. It was related to administration through the FIFA Clearing House,” he said.

“FIFA had requested certain financial reports from us – including financial statements, gate takings and so on, but there was a system glitch which prevented us from completing the process.

"Once the glitch was resolved, we were not made aware, only to later discover that another transfer ban had been imposed. However, as soon as this is sorted – and we are working to resolve it promptly – the ban will be lifted.”

Galaxy only recently emerged from a previous transfer ban linked to player registrations, which was lifted before Christmas.

Sukazi stressed there is no cause for alarm, insisting the club’s administrative matters are under control.

Meanwhile, on the field, Galaxy will be looking to halt a poor run of form that has seen them suffer eight defeats in their last nine matches.

They are set to face Richards Bay FC in Mbombela this weekend in the Betway Premiership hoping to turn the tide.
