SuperSport United move into second with dominant win over TS Galaxy

SuperSport United put on a clinical performance to dismantle TS Galaxy 2-0 in their DStv Premiership clash at TUT Stadium on Friday night.

The hosts started like a proverbial house on fire thanks to a freekick from Jamie Webber, which clattered into the post before an alert Grant Margeman provided the perfect ball for Siphesihle Ndlovu to put them 1-0 up in the fourth minute.

Ghampani Lungu nearly doubled the lead with a powerful strike minutes later, but TS Galaxy gloveman Vasilije Kolak was equal to the task.

Matsatsantsa then started the second half just as they started the first. The hosts won a free kick early and some quick play left Mergeman - who would later get the man of the match accolade for his efforts - in acres of space to deliver a cross.

And as is so often the case, dangerman Bradley Grobler was in the right place at the right time and despite being surrounded by TS Galaxy defenders, the striker still managed to guide his 101st top-flight goal home from close range, doubling the lead.

A deflated TS Galaxy lacked penetration on attack and began to be starved of the ball as SuperSport controlled the game. When they were finally put out of their misery by the final whistle, it marked the 15th time TS Galaxy had failed to score this season.
