Although Stellies recently played in a cup final against Orlando Pirates, their league form has not been quite what we’ve become used to in the past few seasons, having won only one match in seven, and lost a concerning five.
Speaking at the launch of this year’s Carling Knockout Cup on Monday, Langeveldt rallied his teammates to stick together and make sure they come out of their slump as soon as possible.
"Obviously we have to stay calm, we believe in our processes – what we want out of the players and out of the club, and to stay together, the unity is there of course," said Langeveldt.
"We know what we can do, we're going through a bad patch basically, but we've been in situations like this and we came out of it, so I have no doubt in my mind that we will come out of this. It takes one match, hopefully on Wednesday we can turn things around."
Stellies were drawn against Kaizer Chiefs in the first round of the tournament, a team they’ve struggled to beat in the recent past, but Langeveldt is confident they can overcome their hoodoo.
"They are a bit of a hoodoo team, we haven't beaten them in a while, but, like I said, every match gives a new opportunity, so hopefully this time around we can beat them," he added.
"For us it's just to stick together – that's important. The Carling [Knockout] can give you the confidence obviously, once you win a match, it can continue into the league, and hopefully that can change it around."
