Sizwe Sibiya expects tough test against Stellenbosch FC

The Rockets will be looking for redemption after suffering a 2-1 defeat to champions Mamelodi Sundowns in their final match before the international break.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Sibiya says Galaxy will need to remain open-minded against a Stellenbosch side that is difficult to read and prepare for.

“Stellies is a tricky team. They have so many elements of surprise, because in each game they play differently, you can’t really pinpoint what their game model is, but one can mention how certain individuals have great potential. Jones is one, you also have to acknowledge that it doesn’t seem like she gets tired. 

“There’s also a good left-footer who can pose a threat from set pieces, and how can one forget their goalkeeper? She’s very good.

“We are expecting a tough but entertaining clash against them, and I need the players to be open-minded when facing this versatile side,” said Sibiya.

Sibiya says the mood in camp is positive, with the team determined to bounce back from their previous defeat.

“We are ready. The team is in the mood to do well. After the last encounter, we are looking forward to redeeming ourselves. The last match we played before the international break didn’t yield the results we wanted,” added Sibiya.

TS Galaxy currently sit second on the log with 10 points, five points behind defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns as the Rockets enter the second half of the league campaign.
