The two clubs are understood to have finalised the transfer earlier this week, with the 26-year-old leaving the Eastern Cape for the Cape Winelands to link up with coach Gavin Hunt, whose new two-year contract at Stellies has also been confirmed.
Kwayiba joins his third club within the space of a year after initially signing for Orlando Pirates from Chippa United in July 2025.
However, his spell at Pirates proved short-lived and largely forgettable after featuring in just two matches for the Soweto giants in that time, prompting a return to the Chilli Boys midway through the campaign.
The forward revived his career during the second half of the Betway Premiership season, featuring in all 15 league matches for Chippa while contributing six goals and one assist to help the Chilli Boys avoid relegation.
It’s his standout performances that quickly attracted interest from several topflight clubs but Stellenbosch – the public broadcaster has established – ultimately won the race for his signature in a permanent deal concluded.
The move forms part of what is expected to be a significant squad overhaul at Stellenbosch following a disappointing campaign that saw the club finish outside the top eight for the first time since the 2020/21 season.
Hunt recently hinted at major personnel changes, suggesting some players had failed to fully commit to the club’s ambitions.
Stellenbosch are therefore expected to be active in the transfer market when the window officially opens on 1 July as they look to rebuild under the veteran coach who has won four league titles.
