Sekhukhune, Milford and Jacksa Spears progress to Nedbank Cup last eight

Sekhukhune United, Milford FC and Jacksa Spears all won their respective Round of 16 encounters to advance to the 2025/26 Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.
University of Pretoria 0-1 Sekhukhune United
Sekhukhune United overcame Motsepe Championship Foundation side University of Pretoria by a single goal at the TUKS Stadium in Tshwane on Sunday.
The Betway Premiership side started strongly and almost took an early lead through Vusumusi Mncube, however his shot from a Vuyo Letlapa cross went wide.
A physical battle followed with multiple fouls from both sides, with United's Malegkene Mampuru coming close in the 29th minute but also failing to hit the target as the teams headed to half time goalless.
Both teams made changes at the break, with Sekhukhune threatening first through Tshepo Mokoane before goalkeeper Toaster Ntsabata was tested, making back-to-back saves from AmaTuks' Siphiwe Mtswheni and Prince Nxumalo.
Eric Tinkler's side eventually took the lead in the 55th minute after Letlapa's left-footed strike beat Tukkies goalkeeper Tokollo Makgolane.
Babina Noko did have the ascendancy in the last 30 minutes of the match but failed to hit the target as they held on to a 1-0 win to progress to the next round.
Milford 3-0 Mkhambathi
Milford FC continued their good cup form when they defeated fellow KwaZulu-Natal outfit Mkhambathi FC at the Richards Bay Stadium.
Three second half strikes were enough to put Milford into the Nedbank Cup quarter finals for the first time, having previously failed to advance past the Round of 16 in 2024 and 2025.
Both teams managed to create a few half chances in the first half but only Milford could put two shots on target before the interval.
Milford's experience in the competition started to show in the second half as the created more chances before Bulelani Sigomoshe gave them a 67th minute lead with a close-range header.
Siphosethu Ndlabi increased the lead for the home side ten minutes later before Tony Mbunga punished a tired looking Mkhambathi to give the Motsepe Championship side a comprehensive victory.
Jacksa Spears 1-0 Vasco Da Gama
ABC Motsepe League outfit Jacksa Spears defeated fellow lower division side Vasco Da Gama with a solitary first half strike from Itumeleng Olyn.
The home side took the lead in the 41st minute after Vasco failed to deal with a corner leaving Olyn to slot home a right footed shot into the net.
Things went from bad to worse for the visitors as Mogamat Kiyaam Bull was shown a red card only eight minutes into the second half.
Spears were able to hold out for the victory despite some nervy moments late in the fixture.
