Gavin Hunt still testing combinations as Sekhukhune hold Stellies

The Cape Winelands side has now gone three games without a win, with their only three points in six matches so far this season coming against Marumo Gallants almost a month ago.

Hunt says his team needs to make better use of the chances they get and start being more consistent with results.

"Yeah, disappointed obviously we drew the game. We missed a couple of big chances the last few games away from home, so we got to do better and give ourselves something to play with. But we're still fiddling with combinations because of situations. But, yeah, disappointed we drew the game," said Hunt.

While Hunt had said he didn’t think Bradley Grobler would last the full 90 minutes, the 38-year-old was the one who rescued a point for him in the 87th minute of the game. The goal was the veteran’s 130th in the PSL and took him past Siyabonga Nomvethe into second on the all-time list, edging him closer to Peter Shalulile’s record 134.

The accomplished coach believes that his young squad will eventually click into gear, with some of his more experienced players still unavailable for one reason or another.

Stellies will have a week to prepare for their next encounter away at newcomers Kruger United, followed by the FIFA international window. Hunt says the break will be crucial for them to work on some key areas of concern.
