Sebastian Kehl: Dortmund brought in two players to replace Jude Bellingham

Sporting director Sebastian Kehl has revealed that Borussia Dortmund attempted to offset Jude Bellingham's exit by signing Felix Nmecha and Marcel Sabitzer.

Bellingham recently parted ways with the BVB to sign for La Liga giants Real Madrid, in a move worth just over £88million.

To fill the significant hole left by the England international, Dortmund opted to sign both Nmecha from Wolfsburg, and Sabitzer from Bayern Munich.

Kehl believes the two players bring unique assets to the Bundesliga outfit and will help them cope with Bellingham's departure.

"We have thought a lot in the summer about how we want to offset Jude Bellingham's departure," Kehl told the media.

"It was clear from the outset that we wanted to try to compensate for this with two different player profiles.

"In Felix and Marcel we have signed two different footballers with different ages. They are two quality players who will help us.

"Marcel, with his style, his experience, his player profile, his ability to score goals, but also his aggressiveness, will be very good for the team.

"We had been in contact for quite some time and in the end things came together quickly."
