Sead Ramovic confident after watching D'General in the Free State

TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic is confident they will overcome ABC Motsepe League side D’General in their Nedbank Cup last 16 match after driving to Free State to watch two of their league games.

The two teams meet at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Sunday, a game that is expected to attract a large crowd, particularly from former top-flight side Bloemfontein Celtic supporters who came in huge numbers to support their neighbours in the previous cup game.

The Serbian-born coach sounds optimistic after this trip.

"I know we have a team in front of us that looks on the paper that it should be easy but we know that it will be not easy, it's always a tricky one. That's why we went and watched two games live from them,” Ramovic said.

“So, we drove around four hours to go there and to watch them. So, we have some information that we will of course analyse and see what game plan we will have. Our goal is to go into the next round and I think without any doubt we have this kind of plan - we should be confident that we can go there and win the game. It's a must for us."

Some top-flight teams have made the mistake of just sending video analysts to get the footage of their lower division teams when they are playing their league games, and this backfired in the cup matches.

Ramovic says being there with his technical team was also an advantage for planning purposes.

"Just one thing we didn't watch some of the clips, we went there and we watched the game live. When they played against the team that was on the second last place, so, it meant that they fought to go up and the team that was fighting to stay in the league. So, we went there live to watch those games,” the coach explained.

“So, it's not just analysing the video because we are a professional team, so we went there to watch the game live to see how they play because we believe that they will not play something else because they're playing to go into a higher league [get promoted to the Motsepe Foundation Championship]. So, I'm sure they will play the best they can. So, that's what we analyse, we put a team on the field that we believe that we can [use to] win the game."

D’General, who are currently second in the Free State ABC Motsepe League Stream A Division, just three points behind Celtic after 17 matches played are co-owned by Bafana Bafana and Sekhukhune United star player Kamohelo Mokotjo and popular Lesedi FM presenter Ba2cada.
