Richards Bay coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi explains reunion with Ntsako Makhubela

Richards Bay FC coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has explained their move to bring former Orlando Pirates and Swallows player Ntsako Makhubela into the team.

Earlier this week the Natal Rich Boys signed Makhubela for a short stint, to beef up their attack as they are currently in danger of relegation.

Following another 2-1 defeat against Lamontville Golden Arrows on Saturday afternoon, Kanu says reuniting with his former player will help add more options to survive and adding Makhubela brings confidence upfront.

"We needed someone with experience and someone confident on the ball because at this particular time, if you look at our team, it's dominated by youngsters. Our youngsters have potential but in this situation that we are in right now any experience could help so that's why we decided that since he was available then I contacted him and during training, we saw a huge difference in our team. Even during the game there was a huge difference but we'll work on it to make sure that the combination with Makhubela works for the club," Vilakazi said.

Cape Town Spurs have found form in the league and getting closer to leapfrogging Richards Bay in the relegation battle.

With another loss for the KZN outfit, it adds more challenges for them. Vilakazi says it doesn't help to be worried without action, he just wants to transfer positive energy to avoid more stress.

"Yes, but being worried won't help our situation, we need to change the environment, I can't come with a negative energy to the players because it will be transformed to them. So, I must always stay positive and encourage them to do better in our next game, that's my job and unfortunately, there's nothing I can do. So, I can't sympathise with the players because we lost, we need to soldier on, they must chin up. I'm going to tell them to chin up, take responsibility and try to save the club."
