Report: Barcelona looking to fill injury-stricken Gavi void with Giovani Lo Celso signing

Barcelona are looking to sign a midfielder to cover for the absence of injury-stricken Gavi.

Gavi recently suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which usually has a recovery time of between nine and 12 months and with a gruelling fixture schedule ahead for the Blaugrana, a replacement is being lined up.

Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been touted for a possible loan move to Barca to plug the hole, while Real Betis' Guido Rodriguez, Everton duo Idrissa Gana Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucouré, Pablo Fornals and former Barca midfielder Thiago have also been mentioned.

In 2022, Gavi won the Golden Boy award and received the Kopa Trophy, awarded by France Football during the 2022 Ballon d'Or ceremony.
