Chiefs have lined up Thabiso Monyane and Dillon Solomons at right-back this season, but Frosler proved he can offer something different with two assists during their recent 4-1 win away to relegation-threatened Magesi.
What was important for the former Bidvest Wits wingback was to be a team player during his period on the sidelines and focus on his job and family, while avoiding off-field distractions.
"There's no point, if I don't play, I come to work sulking and showing a bad attitude or just being negative towards things, it doesn't help anybody," said Frosler.
"So, for myself, it was to stay positive and yes, perhaps I wasn't having as much fun in terms of on-field activities, but I go home and spend time with the family and that's where I try and have a bit more fun.
"But as long as I came to work everyday, did what I needed to do at work, and then head home after that."
Ahead of this weekend’s season finale against the 13th-placed Chippa United, who are desperate to avoid the playoffs, Frosler reflected on the positives despite their failure to win silverware.
"I think, if you look at the season yourself, you'd see there were a lot of improvements since 2019 – I think we're on par to reach the same amount of points we reached that season," he added.
"So this season compared to the last however many seasons [since 2019/20], there has been a lot of improvement, a lot more consistency from us as players with regards to results and performance this year than in previous years.
"We looked at last season, we saw what we needed to do try and get better, and I think we've implemented that and we've just got to now look at this season to try and get better for the next season."
