Ranga Chivaviro promises to end dry spell for Kaizer Chiefs

Just a day after laying to rest their slain defender Luke Fleurs, Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro says in today’s DStv Premiership game against Richards Bay FC, their main aim is to wipe off the tears of their fans with a victory.

Chiefs are winless in their last three matches in the league with also three defeats.

Their last victory was at the beginning of last month against Golden Arrows and Chivaviro says at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi today, they have to turn things around.

"Heading into the game against Richards Bay, we come from a very sad past few having lost against Chippa in East London a couple of weeks ago. The break that we've had with the whole Nedbank Cup, we used it wisely. It gave us more time to prepare for the game. We are now focused more on the Richards Bay game and we have left the defeat against Chippa behind us and now all we want is to get the three points against Richards Bay,” Chivaviro said.

“We've also had a short break since it was the Nedbank Cup weekend, it gave us more time to be on the pitch, try to find football solutions that can help us, get the three points against Richards Bay."

The Natal Rich Boyz are hungry for points as they try to move away from the relegation zone and the play-off spot that they currently occupy.

On the other hand, Chiefs are now outside the top eight and occupying the 10th spot. Anything less than a victory won’t help their hopes of securing a CAF spot.

"You know, we are also mindful of the fact that they're not in a good position and so are we and we take cognisance of the fact that we need to finish the season strong, we need to qualify for a CAF position and it's our mandate, it's what we've agreed upon, it's something we owe ourselves and our fans as well.

“We talk amongst ourselves as to how much we have been disappointing to ourselves, to our fans as well and as difficult as it is, we ask them to keep on supporting us. May they rely behind us because in these tough times, it's the times times that we need them the most but we believe that this weekend, we are going to be victorious and we're going to get the three points that we desire and need."
