Premier League: Arsenal's winning run ended, Chelsea cruise to victory

Arsenal saw their winning run ended by Sunderland, while Chelsea claimed a convincing victory over Wolves in Saturday's Premier League action.

Sunderland 2-2 Arsenal

Brian Brobbey's 94th-minute strike salvaged a 2-2 draw for Sunderland against Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Stadium of Light.

Former Arsenal defender Dan Ballard fired the hosts ahead midway through the first half, ending the Gunners' run of eight straight clean sheets. Arsenal hit back after the break when Declan Rice won possession and Bukayo Saka drilled home at the near post. Leandro Trossard's superb long-range effort then put the visitors in front.

But Sunderland refused to yield. Substitute Brobbey, denied twice by David Raya, finally poked in Ballard's header deep into stoppage time to preserve the Black Cats' unbeaten home record.

Arsenal stay six points clear at the top, while Sunderland climb to fourth. Ballard was named Player of the Match.

Chelsea 3-0 Wolves

Malo Gusto scored his first senior goal as Chelsea eased past managerless Wolves 3-0 at Stamford Bridge to move second in the Premier League.

The Blues were booed off at half-time after a wasteful first period but came alive six minutes after the restart when Gusto headed in Alejandro Garnacho's cross - his first goal in 165 career appearances. Substitute Estevao Willian lifted the mood further, setting up compatriot Joao Pedro for a close-range finish just over a minute after coming on. Pedro Neto completed the scoring from another Garnacho assist.

Chelsea, dominant throughout, restricted Wolves to long-range efforts from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and substitute Marshall Munetsi. Caretaker coaches James Collins and Richard Walker could only watch as their side slipped deeper into trouble, eight points from safety with two points from 11 games.

Manager Enzo Maresca praised Estevao's impact: "When he came on, the energy raised - people love that kind of player."

Chelsea, now six points behind leaders Arsenal, look well placed heading into the winter stretch. Wolves, awaiting Rob Edwards' expected appointment, face an uphill battle to stay in the top flight.

West Ham 3-2 Burnley

West Ham made it two wins in a row under Nuno Espirito Santo with a 3â-2 victory over Burnley, ending a nine-match home drought and reviving their survival hopes.

Pre-match protests against the club's board saw thousands march through Stratford, but the atmosphere turned once play began. Zian Flemming's header gave Burnley the lead, yet Callum Wilson levelled just before half-time from close range.

Substitute Tomas Soucek then swung the game West Ham's way, first scrambling in Lucas Paqueta's cross before his long-range strike was spilled by Martin Dúbravka for Kyle Walker-Peters to make it three. Former Hammer Josh Cullen netted a stoppage-time consolation after an Alphonse Areola error, but West Ham held on.

The Hammers stay 18th, level on points with Burnley, but Nuno's men look transformed after back-to-back wins over Newcastle and Burnley.

Everton 2-0 Fulham

Idrissa Gueye and Michael Keane scored as Everton ended a three-game winless run with a 2-0 victory over Fulham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Gueye broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time after a miscued Tim Iroegbunam shot fell to him, giving Everton a deserved lead following early offside frustrations for Thierno Barry and James Tarkowski. Fulham created few chances, with Jordan Pickford denying Rodrigo Muniz and Iliman Ndiaye clearing a close-range attempt.

Everton sealed the win late when Keane powered in a Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall corner with nine minutes remaining, ensuring a solid defensive display complemented by timely contributions from midfield and defense.

The victory lifts Everton into mid-table, while Fulham remain just a point above the relegation zone. Everton manager David Moyes praised the team's performance and resilience, whereas Marco Silva admitted Fulham were second best for much of the match, showing competitiveness for only brief spells after the break.
