Pirates play Stellenbosch FC in the Wafa-Wafa final at the Mbombela stadium later this evening (6 pm), and Makgopa says they are driven by the hunger to achieve.
A win in this cup final could go a long way towards seeing Ouaddou endearing himself to the demanding Pirates fans.
After a slow start this season, the former Moroccan national team captain is finding his rhythm with the team, and Makgopa is also happy with his progress.
Makgopa, who was part of the Bafana Bafana squad that returned with a bronze medal from last year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Côte d’Ivoire, was also asked about the challenges that players have when they are with the national team ahead of a big final like this.
"I don't think the international window makes much of a difference to our preparations; we know that we just have to stay focused throughout the final."
Pirates have signed a lot of quality players this season, especially in the attack, and this is the kind of competition that Makgopa says is challenging him positively and also teaching him how to be a good teammate.
