Devin Titus eager to overturn MTN8 final fortunes in Mbombela

Stellenbosch FC forward Devin Titus is itching to reverse their devastating MTN8 Final loss to Orlando Pirates last year by lifting the trophy at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.

Titus and his teammates will be playing in their third cup final in three seasons, having won one and lost another to the Buccaneers.

He says playing the decider again will not make things any easier for them, and instead they have to work extra hard to make sure history does not repeat itself.

"It's a third final in three years, and I think that just comes down to the players, firstly, because we've worked hard to get into finals, and hopefully we can win this one," said Titus.

"I don't think it gets easier, we just have to prepare well, and even though you do that, you don't know what the opponents will bring to the table, so it doesn't get easier.

"In fact, it gets harder because we have to prepare ourselves and we have to prepare for what the opponents are going to bring at the end of the day."

Despite playing the same team in the final, Titus dismissed talk that they already know what Pirates will deliver on the pitch, as he warned that complacency could be his side’s downfall.

"I think there are a lot of players that we know, we've played against them a couple of times, but collectively it's very hard to know what they're going to bring to the table because players change and thing can change," he added.

"We don't know who's going to be in the starting line-up, so to answer the question, it wasn't easy last year and it's not going to be easier this year."
