Having already eliminated fellow Betway Premiership side Marumo Gallants in the previous round, Galaxy now face an even sterner test against the reigning league champions – a task Fisher admits will be formidable.
However, the defender remains confident the 2019 winners have what it takes to rise to the occasion.
"It's a very exciting draw. It was an open draw so you can draw anybody and fortunately we drew Mamelodi Sundowns. I'm saying fortunately because it's a big game because we all know the quality they possess.
"In 2019 we went all the way, so we know what it takes to get there. Now we just have to do the same thing and give our best in every single game."
Fisher adds that they cannot be phased by the star-studded Sundowns.
Results have been mixed for Galaxy in the league and Fisher is adamant a solid cup run will be evidence of the work they are putting in behind the scenes.
"I'd say the confidence in camp is still good. If you watch some of our games, it's not like we were playing bad or anything, it's just that the results matter at the end of every game.
"We are looking forward to work hard before we face Sundowns."
The former Cape Town City right back also spoke of the recent transfers of defender Khulumani Ndamane to Sundowns and winger Puso Dithejane to the MLS, while he also finds his feet in Johannesburg.
"That's football for you. Players come and go, but it's all about the next guy coming in and taking his opportunity to shine. TS Galaxy has a lot of quality players and it's an easy process to come in and to work hard if it is your time.
"Moving from Cape Town, it is very different, but it has been really easy to settle in here."
