Nottingham Forest sign Frenchman Arnaud Kalimuendo on long-term deal

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of French striker Arnaud Kalimuendo on a five-year deal, bringing the prolific 23-year-old to Trentside.

Kalimuendo, who joins from Stade Rennais, enjoyed the most productive campaign of his career in 2024/25, scoring 18 goals and providing four assists in 34 Ligue 1 appearances. His form in France attracted Forest's attention as they looked to strengthen their attacking options.

The Paris-born forward began his career with Paris Saint-Germain, entering the club's academy at the age of ten.

He first made his mark in European youth competition, debuting for PSG's under-19s in the UEFA Youth League at 16, before stepping up to the senior side in 2020. That same year, he signed a contract extension with the 13-time French champions.

To gain experience, Kalimuendo enjoyed two loan spells at Lens, where he scored 21 goals in 65 matches, before leaving PSG permanently in August 2022 after a decade at the club.

He then joined Rennes, where he quickly became a key figure. Over three seasons, he played more than 100 matches and scored 40 goals, also gaining valuable experience in the Europa League during his first two campaigns.

"When I heard about the interest from Forest, I was honoured. This is a proud moment for me, joining a team who had a strong season last year and a club with great history," said Kalimuendo, via the club's official website.

"I'm ready for the challenge, and I arrive here with good experience. I had a good season last year with goals and assists but I want more and want to reach a new level here.

"I can't wait to play in the Premier League, and to play at the City Ground. I watched games from last season and it's clear the fans create a beautiful atmosphere. I'm excited to see them and impatient to get started."
