Daniel Munoz leaves Crystal Palace to reunite with Oliver Glasner at Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Colombia international Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace in a deal worth up to 22 million pounds.

The 30-year-old right-back has signed a three-year contract with the option of a further season and will reunite with Oliver Glasner, under whom he enjoyed a highly successful spell at Palace.

Munoz was a key figure in Palace's FA Cup triumph, their first major trophy, as well as their 2025 Community Shield success and Europa Conference League victory last season. He made 109 appearances for the Eagles after joining from Genk in January 2024, scoring 11 goals.

His move to Forest gives Glasner the opportunity to work with a player he knows well as the club look to strengthen following a difficult start to the Premier League campaign.

Forest opened the season with a 1-0 defeat by Leeds before drawing 2-2 with Liverpool, leaving them still searching for their first league victory. Munoz could make his debut against Tottenham on Saturday.

The 51-cap Colombia international expressed his excitement at linking up with Glasner again and joining a club he believes has ambitious plans.

"I think that Oliver Glasner is special, I have a very good relationship with him and we did big things together," Munoz said. "It was an incredibly special period. What he did with our previous club, I have a lot of respect and a lot of admiration for him."

He added: "This is a winning club. I think that when this is the expectation, the mentality, both for the management and the technical team, and for the players, this makes it special."

Munoz becomes Forest's second major signing of the period following the reported 50 milion pound arrival of Liam Delap.

Forest chief football officer George Syrianos said the club believe Munoz's Premier League and European experience will make him an important addition.

"Daniel has performed strongly in the Premier League and in European competition, and we believe he has the mentality and ambition to make a significant contribution to the club," Syrianos said.
