The Gunners stormed to an impressive three goal lead within the first half of the encounter, with a Bukayo Saka goal sandwiched between a Viktor Gyokeres brace to clinch the points and restore a six-point lead at the summit.
"I'm really, really happy," said Arteta after the match.
"I think it was a big performance, a very strong team performance, and a very impressive individual performance as well from the boys. We came back from Madrid on Thursday afternoon, also playing a game that took a lot from us, energy-wise, mentally, but the team responded incredibly well."
The win was Arsenal's second in a row in the Premier League since losing to title chasers Manchester City last month and sees them temporarily move six points clear at the top, with City having games in hand.
"It's about energy and showing how much we want it, and that hunger," added the French coach.
"And the team clicked immediately, the boys delivered what we planned against a really tough opponent, and we were very efficient."
The North London side turn their attention to Wednesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg clash against Atletico Madrid, with the aggregate score level at 1-1.
