Leeds United secure signing of Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach

Leeds United have completed the signing of German midfielder Anton Stach from TSG Hoffenheim on a permanent deal, subject to international clearance and a work permit.

The 26-year-old has penned a four-year contract, becoming the sixth addition to Daniel Farke's squad as the Whites aim to strengthen ahead of their Premier League return.

Standing at 6 ft 4 in, Stach brings a commanding physical presence and proven versatility, capable of operating in both midfield and defensive roles. With over 250 career appearances and 26 goals to his name, he offers valuable experience and a goal threat from deeper positions.

Stach's pedigree includes two senior caps for Germany and a triumph at the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, where he played a key role in the team that defeated Portugal 1-0 in the final.

Over the past five seasons, he has featured regularly in the Bundesliga, representing Greuther Furth - where he achieved promotion from the 2. Bundesliga - Mainz 05, and most recently Hoffenheim.

In the 2024/25 season, he also gained valuable European experience, playing six matches in the UEFA Europa League and notably scoring against eventual champions Tottenham Hotspur.

Daniel Farke praised Stach's "leadership, versatility, and top-level experience", highlighting his ability to impact both ends of the pitch.

With his strong aerial presence, tactical intelligence, and European pedigree, Stach is expected to play a vital role in Leeds' midfield engine as they push for stability and success in the top flight.
