South Africa face the Pharaohs at Stade Adrar in Agadir, buoyed by their 2-1 victory over Angola in their opening fixture.
Davids, who travelled to Marrakesh to watch Bafana’s opener on Monday night, says another victory would allow Broos to rotate his side and explore alternative options within his 25-man squad.
"It's important to get the result in the next game, so that the coach may rotate in the last group game. Are we scared of Egypt? I don't think so, we have the squad that go up against them."
A member of the 2010 World Cup squad, Davids supports giving every player an opportunity throughout the tournament.
After losing their opening match to Mali at the last AFCON, Bafana Bafana were forced into recovery mode. Davids says this time, an early win changes everything.
"I don't want to put a lot of pressure on the team by saying that we will win it, but you're going to have those pressures and expectations after finishing third in the last AFCON."
