Around this time last season, Broos pleaded with Mofokeng not to rush a move to an overseas team when there were a few options on the table for him.
At that time, the 20-year-old attacker had not made his debut for Bafana Bafana, but a lot has happened in the last 12 months.
It’s not just Mofokeng receiving offers, but Mohau Nkota as well. Broos says the choice of their destination is important.
"The only advice I can share with them is, make the right choice, that's all I can say. It's so important to make the right choice because if you don't go to the right club where you don't play, then it's better to stay for at least one more year," said the Bafana Bafana boss.
SABC Sport now understands that Mofokeng is not short of options when it comes to offers from overseas clubs, especially after a good season in the CAF Champions League, a platform monitored by the world’s top five leagues.
Broos has always maintained that for Bafana Bafana to compete at the highest level, the best talent in the country must move to bigger leagues, and he has no doubt that talented players like Mofokeng can succeed there.
He says Shandre Campbell's pathway to Club Brugge was a good example.
"The likes of Mofokeng, Mbokazi, and Nkota will progress if they play in Europe, they will become better players, just like Shandre Campbell. Yes, Campbell might not be playing with Club Brugge's first team, but he is playing in the Belgian second division, which is a very tough division, I can assure you," asserted Bross.
With only 20 matches in top-flight football, including four knockout matches in the CAF Champions League, SA U20 international and Relebohile Mofokeng's teammate, Mbekezeli Mbokazi is attracting big interest from some European clubs, particularly in Belgium.
Broos maintains that these players should prioritise game time in their decision to pursue offers, irrespective of the league's standards.
