South Africa's FIFA World Cup campaign came to an end on Sunday after a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to Canada in the round of 32 at the Los Angeles Stadium, reigniting speculation over whether the Belgian will remain at the helm.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Broos, who had initially said he would quit following the global showpiece, reiterated that he will only make an official announcement once he has returned home and reflected.
"I think it was a fantastic journey. Maybe it started a little bit slowly, but we did a very good job. I'm still so proud of this team and what they achieved over the last five years, so I think we can look back at the past with happiness. Now it's up to me to put everything in order and see what I will decide in the next few days and weeks."
Broos said the narrow loss to Canada should force Bafana Bafana to add another element to their game, which is physicality.
It was certainly a World Cup of mixed emotions for Broos and his charges, however the coach felt Bafana did not just simply make up the numbers.
