Chicago Fire teammate raves about Mbekezeli Mbokazi

Canada and Chicago Fire centre-back Joel Waterman believes that his teammate and Bafana Bafana defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi is destined for big things in the world of football.

Speaking to SABC Sport, shortly after their 1-0 win over Bafana Bafana on Sunday, Waterman, who has partnered Mbokazi at centre-back at the club, revealed that he gave him a big hug after the game for the excellent performance he produced. Waterman can’t wait to see Mbokazi’s game continue to grow...

"He's amazing. I gave him a big hug after the game and after another incredible performance. He is continuing to develop his game, he's so good in all facets and I'm really excited to see where he goes from here."

German-based defender Ime Okon also believes that the future is very bright for this team, especially his centre-back partnership with Mbokazi. 

With both players plying their trade away from South Africa and in competitive leagues, this will certainly benefit the country.

"He is a really great player. The more we work together and grow together the better we will become."
